Who is invited?

The advisor and his/her/their spouse/partner, (“spouse”) who have received an invitation from a member of the wholesaling team at Empire Life. One (1) hotel room per one (1) invitation has been allocated for this conference.

Attendance

The Education Summit is an optional event; attendance is not mandatory if you receive an invitation. If you do choose to attend and accept the invitation, you must be prepared to:

  • Agree to accept and pay for accommodations for you and your spouse/partner at the Miami Beach EDITION Hotel
  • Agree to pay for all airfare costs for you and your spouse/partner to the destination (Miami) and transportation costs to and from the hotel; and
  • Attend all Education Summit events including business sessions from Monday, May 29th (check in) to Thursday, June 1st (check out).

The Education Summit invitation must be accepted as given. There are no substitutions, exchanges for cash, credit or transfers available if you, or your spouse/partner is, unable to or chooses not to:

  • attend the Education Summit;
  • use accommodations arranged by Empire Life.

Will the conference be recorded or have a hybrid component?

This conference is 100 per cent live and in-person. We are not offering a virtual event option for this conference nor are we recording or streaming any of the sessions.

Is there a cost to attend?

YES. You are responsible for transportation costs (including airfare, transportation from the Miami or Ft. Lauderdale International Airport to and from The Miami Beach EDITION Hotel) and accommodations at The Miami Beach Edition Hotel. You will also be responsible for transportation costs to and from your local airport.

Empire Life will cover all scheduled meals and entertainment within the Education Summit dates and Agenda (May 29th arrival to June 1st check out, 2023).

Please be aware that your spouse’s/guest’s attendance at this event will result in a taxable benefit. This benefit will be calculated by Empire Life and reported on a T4A/Relevé-1 tax slip, issued to you (the advisor). The amount will be determined using current CRA regulations and final costs of the summit. A friendly reminder that your guest is invited to all meals and welcome to attend the business sessions.

Before you start

Everyone that registers will be required to submit the following information to complete their registration successfully. This includes:

  • Job Title
  • Company
  • Contact information
  • Dietary requirements
  • Accessibility needs
  • Badge Name
  • Emergency contact information
  • Guest name if they have a partner or spouse who wants to attend the special event *Guests will be required to fill out the above information.

How do I know I have successfully registered for the Education Summit?

Your registration is deemed complete upon receipt of an email confirming that your registration information has been accepted. Please look for an email from: empirelife@sandbox-events.com confirming your registration.

How and when do I book my hotel room?

Registration is now closed. Please email empirelife@sandbox-events.com. to register, or modify your registration.

How are my flights booked?

  • You are responsible for booking and paying for your own flights to Miami.
  • Once you have booked your flights, please send your itinerary to empirelife@sandbox-events.com

Can I upgrade my room?

You are welcome to upgrade your room at your own expense based on availability at time of booking. Please note that the conference rate of $279++/night USD will NOT apply to upgrades. Please also note that double bed rooms are considered an upgrade and subject to a higher rate and limited availability.

Can I extend my stay?

You are welcome to extend your stay pre-program and post-program at The Miami Beach EDITION hotel at your own expense. Due to the high demand and volume of business surrounding (and during) the Education Summit, pre/post extension requests are at the Hotel’s reasonable discretion. Additional pre/post stay extensions (and ability to extend the group rate) will strictly be at the Hotel’s reasonable discretion at the time of request. Please note that regardless of rooms selling to the general public on any given date that the hotel may not be able to honor all requests. Alternative rates and options will be quoted and provided in good faith whenever possible.

Can I stay at a different hotel?

No. For convenience and ease of program logistics, program attendees are required to stay at The Miami Beach EDITION Hotel for the program dates (check in May 29th, check out June 1st, 2023). Please see the Hotel tab for more details.

What should I do if I am not feeling well, or test positive for COVID-19 within five days of the start of the event?

If you are feeling unwell or have tested positive for COVID-19 within five days from the start of the conference, please let us know right away at eufrazia.andrade@empire.ca.

What should I do if I feel unwell or test positive for COVID-19 while at the event?

If you are feeling unwell or have tested positive for COVID-19 while at the conference, please stay in your room and reach out to Lindsay West lindsayw@sandbox-events.com; 647-454-9948 for next steps.

Will I earn CE credits?

If you participate in business sessions you may be eligible for continuing education credits.
